Covert space-to-ground signalling

Signal without
a trace.

A small satellite delivers keys, commands and time stamps into a fenced ground zone. Outside the perimeter, nobody can tell a transmission ever happened — a guarantee that holds against any quantum measurement.

Quantum-Adversary Proof

[03 // THE PHYSICS OF COVERTNESS]

The Square-Root Law,
unlocked by geometry.

In quantum information theory, the Square-Root Law (SRL) dictates that to keep an adversary’s quantum state $\rho_1$ statistically indistinguishable from background noise $\rho_0$ across $n$ channel uses, the covert bit budget is set by the ratio of signal collected by the legitimate receiver ($\eta_{\text{legit}}$) to signal collected by the adversary ($\eta_{\text{adv}}$).

In the worst-case model—where an adversary can collect right up to the receiver aperture—that ratio gives only ~5 bits per pass. When the customer already controls a site the size of the beam footprint (about 0.5 km from LEO at 290 GHz), any adversary outside the fence is forced into the deeply attenuated diffraction region, raising the covert bit budget to thousands or tens of thousands of bits per pass.

THEOREM // SPATIALLY EXCLUDED COVERT CAPACITY QUANTUM BOUND
1. Quantum Relative Entropy Constraint (All Quantum Measurements):
$\displaystyle D\!\left(\rho_1^{\otimes n} \,\middle\|\, \rho_0^{\otimes n}\right) \le 2\epsilon^2 \;\Longrightarrow\; \frac{1}{2}\left\| \rho_1^{\otimes n} - \rho_0^{\otimes n} \right\|_1 \le \epsilon$
2. Perimeter-Amplified Covert Bit Budget per Pass:
$\displaystyle B_{\text{covert}} \approx c_0 \cdot \epsilon \cdot \sqrt{n} \cdot {\color{#b8ff2c} \frac{\eta_{\text{legit}}\,(r < 0.25\text{ km})}{\eta_{\text{adv}}\,(r \ge 0.25\text{ km})}}$
Worst-Case Unfenced Model:
$\eta_{\text{legit}} / \eta_{\text{adv}} \approx 1.0$ →~5 bits / pass
DATASAT 0.5 km Site @ 290 GHz:
$\eta_{\text{legit}} / \eta_{\text{adv}} > 2{,}800\times$ →14,200+ bits / pass

LEO ALTITUDE: 500 KM // APERTURE: APODIZED SUB-THz // BOUND: $\epsilon = 10^{-3}$
MODEL COMPARISON // SIGNAL COLLECTION RATIO
WORST-CASE UNBOUNDED MODEL ~5 BITS / PASS

Without perimeter exclusion, an adversary can position a collector immediately adjacent to the receiver ($\eta_{\text{legit}} / \eta_{\text{adv}} \approx 0\text{ dB}$). Covert power must be throttled so low that only ~5 bits can be delivered per orbital pass.

DATASAT 0.5 KM FENCED PERIMETER 1,000 – 25,000+ BITS / PASS

At 290 GHz ($\lambda = 1\text{ mm}$), the main diffraction lobe from 500 km LEO measures ~0.5 km across. Controlling a 0.5 km site forces any adversary outside the fence ($r \ge 0.25\text{ km}$) into suppressed sidelobes (< -36.8 dB), multiplying the covert bit budget by over $2,800\times$.

CERTIFIED PAYLOAD CAPACITY (NOMINAL 14,200-BIT PASS):

64-bit Authenticated Time Stamps 221 Sync Frames / Pass

At 290 GHz from 500 km LEO, the first Airy diffraction null falls at r = 0.25 km (0.50 km diameter). Because the customer physically controls the 0.50 km site, any adversary outside the perimeter only intercepts suppressed sidelobes beneath the quantum and thermal noise floor.
[04 // MISSION PROFILES & CUSTOMERS]

Built for defense & sovereign
operators of controlled sites.

DATASAT is not a consumer broadband constellation. Our first systems are engineered for defense commands, intelligence agencies, and operators of critical remote infrastructure who already maintain physical security over a 0.5 km perimeter—and require zero-signature space-to-ground signalling.

MISSION 01 // STRATEGIC C2 EMCON SAFE

Covert Command & Tasking into Remote Sites

Deliver high-priority execution orders, posture transitions, or target coordinates to remote defense installations without tipping off adversary SIGINT satellites or perimeter reconnaissance sensors that the site has been tasked.

MISSION 02 // CRYPTOGRAPHIC SEEDING QUANTUM-PROOF

Out-of-Band Key Delivery & Rotation

Continuously refresh symmetric one-time pads and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) root keys into air-gapped sovereign facilities. Even an adversary with an ideal quantum memory outside the fence cannot tell a key refresh occurred.
